In Japan, like everywhere in the world, you can notice strong (and still increasing) influence of ecology on technology and (as a result) on daily life. This brings some new trends in Japanese lifestyle.

… so it is nearly sure that if you come to Japan right now, you will live in a house and have to plant your own rice field like this one …

One of the latest Japanese developments in transport industry is an ecological taxi (based on some previous – well tested models). Its main advantage – no polution, the main drawback – needs two drivers. Some bus models based on the same concept are currently under development.
Ecology has also strong influence on fashion – as an example some new raincoat designs.
